Owen recently attended the President’s Day Lunch and the opening of the new pavilion at Frankton Cricket Club on Sunday. The club was founded in 1947 when Colonel JR Kynaston, now life patron kindly leant the land on which the pitch has been sited ever since. The original pavilion was an old railway carriage but since then thanks to Colonel Kynaston’s generosity, the club has gone from strength to strength. Owen said “I congratulate the club on their excellent fundraising efforts, raising money to improve the club. I would encourage as many local people as possible to play an active role in the club which is a great local amenity.”
