Owen Paterson was at Hindlip Hall on Monday to meet the new Chairman of the West Mercia Police Authority, Sheila Blagg with Chief Constable Paul West. They had a general discussion about the performance of the force and proposed government reforms. Owen was pleased to hear that West Mercia is performing very well in comparison to other forces.
Locally, Paul West was able to confirm that the building of a new station in Market Drayton Police Station is going ahead with detention facilities for low risk prisoners. Owen said “I was very pleased to learn about the positive progress made by West Mercia and look forward to continuing to work closely with Paul West and Sheila Blagg.”
